Our Lady of the Valley Center provides emergency financial assistance in two main ways: Utility Assistance  and Medication Assistance

Utility Assistance – staff at the Center use a variety of sources to help residents in times of dire need.  Using federal qualifying guidelines, the center processes grants through the Emergency Food and Shelter Act (EFSP) to assist those in need to pay their gas/oil, electricity and water bills.

With the help of friends and partnering agencies such as Community Action, VOICe, ACTS, other denominations, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, needs for over 500 families are met every year.

Medication Assistance – the Center enlisted the aid of a variety of community agencies worked with to help bring a new Medication Assistance Program (MAP) to Aiken County in 2004. Previously, our staff could help with medications only on a one-time basis. Now, eligible persons receive on-going medication coverage through the MAP program and the generosity of national pharmaceutical companies.
