Two GED classes are offered at the Center for adults over 18 to prepare for the high school equivalency test. The evening class meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 8:30 PM when local public schools are in session, and the daytime class meets mornings Monday through Thursday in eight-week sessions. Classes prepare students to take all five components of the test for the GED: Mathematics, Language Arts-Reading, Language Arts-Writing, Science, and Social Studies.
The program is supported in collaboration with the Aiken County School District and other agencies and organizations.
Since there is now a waiting list for the morning GED program, the Center hopes to secure funding to offer both afternoon GED Classes and English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes in the future.
